Georgia reported 17 066 coronavirus cases, 5 397 recoveries, and 30 deaths on Friday, the official figures show, the First Channel reports.
Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 9 256 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 2 219 cases, and the Adjara region with 1 523 cases.
A total of 64 412 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 41 613 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 22 799 were PCR tests.
The daily test-positivity rate stands at 26, 5%, while 17, 88 % in the past 14 days.
Georgia’s total case tally reached 1 127 234, among them 986 928 people recovered and 14 870 died.
There are 42 people quarantined, 4 894 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 2 143 asymptomatic and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.
As of January 28, 2 695 237 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 7 997 in a day.
