During today's online press conference, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan answered the question on the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and the opening of the borders.
“The first is the opening stage, where an acquaintance takes place, and also a discussion on technical issues takes place. An atmosphere is being created. The fact that the parties stated that they agreed to discussion without preconditions, it already significantly relieves the tension around the process and the negative atmosphere.
The question is whether it is possible to establish diplomatic relations this year. I cannot predict whether it is possible or not, because it does not depend only on us. It will be very logical if we achieve such a result, especially the establishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of borders,” Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister noted that the Armenian side is interested in normalizing relations without preconditions.
