On January 21, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received the delegation led by Isabelle Dumont, the Adviser to the diplomatic unit of the presidency of France and Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative in the South Caucasus.
Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated France on its presidency in the EU Council, expressing conviction that it will be efficient and will contribute to the establishment of stability and security in the South Caucasus.
During the meeting, there was a reference to the humanitarian issues as a result of the 44-day war. In this context, the immediate repatriation of the Armenian Prisoners of War and civilian hostages was stressed.
The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the steps to be taken to raise the level of security and stability on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. In this regard, Minister Mirzoyan valued the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the Brussels meeting, mediated by the President of the European Council, fixed by the trilateral declaration in Sochi.
The full preservation of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijani leadership was emphasized.
Armenian Foreign Minister evaluated the full restart of the negotiations on the comprehensive and long-lasting resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group.
