On January 17, Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA received Catarina Bjorlin Hansen, Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus.
Welcoming the guest, Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that he highly appreciates the activity of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and attaches importance to the expansion of cooperation with the Ministry. The Minister pointed out the spheres and priorities of the strategic programs of the RA Government and the HTI Ministry, where opportunities for cooperation are outlined. In particular, Vahagn Khachaturyan presented the works being carried out to have high-speed internet and to develop digital standards.
Catarina Bjorlin Hansen expressed the readiness of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to support the implementation of the presented priorities, as well as to contribute to the further development of the sector through the provision of necessary advice and investments.
During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the issues of bilateral economic cooperation, digital governance, introduction of blockchain technologies and financing necessary for the development of high-tech industry, outlined further activities and prospects for cooperation.
