Georgia reported 5,596 coronavirus cases, 2,946 recoveries, and 47 deaths on January 12, the official figures show, the First Channel reports.
58,109 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 34,115, tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 23,994 were PCR tests.
Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 3,180 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 638 cases, and the Imereti region with 563 cases.
The daily test-positivity rate stands at 9,63%, while 9,79% in the past week.
Georgia’s total case tally reached 973,909 among them, 919,367 people recovered and 14,311 died.
There are 83 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4,418 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,958 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
Currently, out of 1,045 critical patients, 293 require mechanical ventilation.
As of today, 2,577,637 people got the coronavirus vaccine, with 10,688 in a day.
