In Almaty, 1237 people were detained per day. They are accused of participation in acts of terrorism, looting and other crimes. Authorities report the seizure of more than 30 firearms and 1,428 ammunition.
The commandant’s office also stated that the Medeusky, Auzovsky and Alatau districts and the residential area adjacent to the city airport and the Ozhet microdistrict were “cleared of bandit groups.”
At the press service of the President of Kazakhstan reported that after the protests all over the country, 412 pre-trial investigations were launched, including those on acts of terrorism and murders.
In addition, in Almaty during the rallies perished Judge of the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Administrative Offenses Murat Abraev. The cause of death was not specified.
Now, according to the Kazakh authorities, the situation is normalizing. According to independent journalists and local residents, shots can still be heard in Almaty, but the overall situation is under the control of the authorities. There are no protests now.
