The events taking place in Kazakhstan confirm the need to intensify the joint fight against terrorism. The statement came from Tajik President Emomali Rahmon during an extraordinary online summit of CSTO leaders on the situation in Kazakhstan, TASS reports.
Rahmon reminded that within the framework of CSTO, CIS and SCO, he has repeatedly spoken about the existence of international terrorism, extremism and “sleeping” cells of religious radicalism in the member states.
The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Japarov warned about the possible movement of terrorists participating in the riots in Kazakhstan to the territories of CSTO member states.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has expressed hope that the President of Kazakhstan will find out the real reasons for the events in his country. Lukashenko warned that if lessons are not learned from the events in Kazakhstan, they may be repeated in other places, first of all in Uzbekistan.
