The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, together with benefactors, within the framework of the New Year holidays, simultaneously held more than 10 humanitarian actions per day in the Askeran region of Nagorno-Karabakh. Specialists of the Humanitarian Response Center congratulated and presented more than 1,700 children from kindergartens and schools in remote settlements of the Askeran region of Nagorno-Karabakh, located near the line of demarcation of the sides.
Children and school teachers thanked the Russian peacekeepers and benefactors for the humanitarian aid, toys and New Year's kits.
During the holidays, Russian peacekeepers, together with benefactors, will hold about 70 humanitarian actions and present gifts to about 8,000 children from remote areas of Nagorno-Karabakh near the borderline of the sides.
Earlier, another consignment of humanitarian cargo for the children of Nagorno-Karabakh was delivered from Moscow to Yerevan by a military transport aircraft of the Russian Defence Ministry. 20 tons of humanitarian aid was collected by charitable organizations and loaded onto a military board at the Chkalovsky airfield in the Moscow region. Then the cargo from Yerevan was delivered by peacekeepers to Nagorno-Karabakh.
To monitor the ceasefire and military operations, a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is being deployed in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
