We have an excellent opportunity to use the new situation in the region, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said in an interview with Imedi TV.
"The reason I say it is the position of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Both stand for peace in the region," he noted.
Georgian PM says both leaders are interested in moving to a new stage in relations between the two countries, including new regional projects, infrastructure, energy, trade, economy, and other fields.
He noted that Georgia always played and is currently playing the right role in the Caucasus.
"I think today we have a unique chance. I personally have warm and reliable relations with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. We maintain very open brotherly and fraternal relations, and there is direct unhampered communication," the head of Government said.
The Prime Minister said that it is impossible to develop trade and economic relations and implement energy projects in the region without mediation.
Garibashvili also noted that Georgian-Turkish relations should be maintained, strengthened, and deepened: “I spare no effort in this direction, and I am glad that the President of Turkey shows the same attitude,” he said.
