A Briton who entered the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas while Queen Elizabeth II was there could have tried to assassinate her. About it writes The Sun tabloid, who has seen a video of threats to the monarch.
19-year-old Sikh Jaswant Chale was detained by the police on the territory of the royal residence on December 25, he had a crossbow with him. Shortly before the arrest, he sent out a video to his contacts on Snapchat, where a masked man with a crossbow promises to kill the queen. Apparently, he himself was on the recording, the British newspaper writes.
In the video, a masked man claims to attempt to assassinate Elizabeth II in revenge for the 1919 Amritsar massacre. Then British troops opened fire on civilians in northern India who were celebrating the Sikh holiday of Vaisakhi. According to various estimates, from 379 to 1000 people died, including dozens of children.
In a video threatening the queen, the author states that he regrets what he will have to do, but by his act he plans to avenge everyone who was killed or humiliated and discriminated against because of their nationality or race.
Chale has not been charged with the attempted murder of the Queen. The police have not yet confirmed that it was him on the video. He is forcibly hospitalized under the mental health law after being examined by doctors. 95-year-old Elizabeth was informed about the detention on the territory of her castle.
