State Department spokesman Ned Price said Russia’s proposals for security guarantees did not address issues of concern to the United States.
During a conversation with reporters, a representative of the department noted that Washington has its own reasons for concern about Russian activities.
“We haven’t seen anything so far to allay our concerns,” Price said.
At the same time, he also stressed that any dialogue and diplomacy should be based on the principles of reciprocity.
Last week the Russian Foreign Ministry presented draft agreements between Moscow and Washington on security guarantees and agreements on ensuring the security of Russia and the NATO countries.
On the eve of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, also noted that Russia ready for constructive work on security guarantees, despite differences with the West.
