The CIVICUS International Organization of Human Rights Defense published the 2021 annual report, according to which Azerbaijan is included in the 24 countries list violating human rights and freedom the most. Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Yemen and others are also among the list.
It is also mentioned that governments use the Covid-19 pandemic to introduce or implement additional restrictions on civic freedoms.
The report says that 9 out of 10 people live in countries where civic freedoms are severely restricted.
