On December 2, within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Zbigniew Rau.
Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Zbigniew Rau discussed a number of issues on bilateral and multilateral agenda, and expressed readiness to undertake practical steps towards strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Touching upon the issues of regional security and stability, Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his counterpart the situation resulting from Azerbaijan's infiltration into and the recent aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia stressed the need for full resumption of the peace process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship. The interlocutors touched upon the issues requiring urgent solution, especially the repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees.
Ararat Mirzoyan also congratulated Poland on its forthcoming chairmanship of the OSCE and expressed confidence that Poland will undertake appropriate measures to ensure peace and security in the OSCE area of responsibility during its presidency.
