“Secure environment, developing economy, good education, leading healthcare. After securing these factors we can only talk about repatriation.” According to Zareh Sinanyan, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, the Government implements different programs to promote repatriation.
“Currently works are being held in the direction of creating a repatriation integration office.
The works for the office are initiated to start from the next year. Today due to the “iGorts” program, many specialists of the Armenian diaspora work in the system of the public administration”, mentioned Sinanyan.
“Why there are millions of Armenians who prefer living abroad and do not want to return to the homeland.”
The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs brings the example of Israel.
According to Sinanyan, in the past Armenian national resources were spent for one goal-to recognize the Genocide, which however pushed the issues of Armenian national security to the background.
Sinanyan stressed that the pandemic and war hindered the continuation of the repatriation boom. He is sure that despite the problems, the diaspora is united around an idea of having a strong and safe homeland.
