Grigory Karasin, head of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, expressed regret over Georgia's refusal to participate in the 3 + 3 regional consultative format, RIA Novosti reported.
“It is a pity that Tbilisi refuses to participate in the preparatory meeting of the 3 + 3 regional consultative mechanism. Moreover, we are ready to discuss all the problematic issues, and to look for unifying topics, to unite interests in the economic and humanitarian spheres, despite all the existing contradictions,” Karasin said.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that Georgia's place in the 3 + 3 format would be maintained as long as Tbilisi expressed readiness to participate in such discussions.
