Within the scope of the agreement that Armenia and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) signed on October 25, 2021, on November 21, a demining group of the Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center SNCO left for Damascus under the leadership of the SNCO’s director Vaghinak Sargsyan.
As reported the Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center SNCO, Armenian demining experts will conduct superficial and in-depth humanitarian demining works in the nearly 2,000,000 square meter agricultural lands in the Daraya settlement of Damascus.
On Nov. 22, Director of the Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center SNCO Vaghinak Sargsyan had a meeting with Ambassador of Armenia to Syria Tigran Gevorgyan. Several issues related to the upcoming programs, as well as the specifics related to the activities of Armenian specialists in Syria were discussed during the meeting.
Sargsyan had meetings with the leadership of the UNMAS, as well as the local Syrian authorities.
