On November 23, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan answers the questions of media representatives and NGOs. Touching upon the issue of the meeting with the President of Azerbaijan within the framework of the Eastern Partnership summit, Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia is ready to have meetings at the highest levels, negotiations in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing.
“As you know, the foreign ministers have already had meetings in that format. We expect the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to organize such a meeting. We have already announced about it in advance, we have expressed our readiness.
The December 15 meeting is not new either, as European Council President Charles Michel put forward such an idea during a visit to the region earlier this summer, saying that the Eastern Partnership summit will take place on December 15, and he came up with the idea to organize a meeting between me and the President of Azerbaijan.
I did not reject that idea, I accepted it, I said that December will approach, we will make it more specific. In well-known circumstances, he called me and the President of Azerbaijan, and we both confirmed the participation in the Eastern Partnership summit and, accordingly, within that framework, we also expressed readiness to meet,” the Prime Minister said.
