Poland's government spokesman, Piotr Mueller, says that “the recent suspension of migration activities on Polish-Belarusian border does not mean that the crisis related to the situation in the East is over. On the contrary, the geopolitical crisis coming from the eastern direction can be continued for many months or even years.”
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will visit UE countries, including Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia on Sunday, to discuss the crisis as the situation calls for solidarity in Europe and joint action, a government spokesman told press conference.
The months-long migrant crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border has escalated in recent days.
Poland has deployed over 10 thousand soldiers on the Polish-Belarusian border. The Border Guard is also supported by the police and territorial defense forces.
Areas adjacent to Poland's border with Belarus have been under a state of emergency since 2 September.
