During the NA-Government question-and-answer, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the opening of communications in the region.
“Our perception is the following. As a result of the opening of communications in the region, the western regions of Azerbaijan should receive railway-road communication with Nakhichevan through the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Armenia should receive railway communication with Iran through Azerbaijan, as well as Railway and road communication with Russia through Azerbaijan.
When it seemed to us that we were close to a solution, that solution did not work out, because it turned out that by “opening communication channels” Azerbaijan meant, for example, the opening of communication, for example, between Goris and Kapan through Azerbaijan. The problem is that we do not need to receive such communication, because it is only a technical issue for us. Now we have a new road Yerevan-Kapan, we will have alternative roads to Chakaten, Vorotan, Bardzravan, Shurnukh,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
