Armenia’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Vahan Hunanyan answered media questions.
In response to a question about applying to the Russian Federation, he said the following: “The Republic of Armenia is in direct and multilevel relations with ally Russia. As you know, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation had a telephone conversation, during which Nikol Pashinyan presented the situation to Vladimir Putin.
In this context, the leaders of the two countries discussed possible joint steps, the implementation of which is enshrined in a bilateral legal framework and in line with allied relations.
Regarding the application to the UN Security Council, he said: “The Armenian Foreign Ministry has already informed the President of the UN Security Council about the situation.
We would like to note that in order to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, the application of all the instruments of international law and diplomatic practice is considered.”
