The Turkish delegation is satisfied with the talks on the supply of F-16 fighter jets to the United States, the next meeting will be held in Ankara, the Turkish Defense Ministry said, TASS reports.
“A meeting between Turkish and US Defense Department delegations took place in Washington, during which the sides discussed issues of bilateral and regional security,” the statement said.
Yesterday, the Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar announced that their military delegation is in the United States negotiating the supply of F-16 fighter jets. Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his US counterpart Joe Biden had promised to make every effort to persuade the US Senate to sell the F-16 to Turkey. Akar noted that in case of rejection, Ankara will have to consider alternatives, that is, to buy planes from other countries, including Russia.
