Hripsime Grigoryan, member of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction of the National Assembly, called on Armenia's international partners to make more targeted appeals against the “short-sighted, dangerous actions of the Azerbaijani military-political leadership.”
According to Grigoryan, the lack of calls can be perceived as indifference, lack of commitment.
“Dear international partners, I want to draw everyone’s attention to the current provocative actions of Azerbaijan against the eastern borders of the Republic of Armenia, namely the bombing of Armenian positions at the moment. These regular illegal military operations are the continuation of the actions of Azerbaijani Armed Forces that invaded the severing territory of the Republic of Armenia yesterday.
As known the Azerbaijani army and the military equipment left the territory of the Republic of Armenia as a result of negotiations on November 15. At the same time, the subdivisions of the Armenian Armed Forces were also withdrawn from these positions. Nevertheless, the Azerbaijani servicemen who invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in May this year, continue to be deployed in the mentioned areas.
We call on our international partner, including the CSTO, OSCE, PACE, EU partners to take the necessary measures to condemn another provocation by Azerbaijan to prevent further provocative actions,” Grigoryan said.
She stressed that the Azerbaijani aggression is directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia, at the same time a threat to regional security and stability, contradicts the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, which prevents the opening of communications, delimitation and demarcation of borders.
