Arthur Hovhannisyan, Secretary of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction of Armenia’s National Assembly, speaking in the National Assembly, referred to the situation in Armenia’s eastern border.
“We call the attention of the international community, the CSTO and the Russian Federation to the fact that Azerbaijan is currently encroaching on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, using armored vehicles, artillery and other means of combat,” Hovhannisyan said.
According to Hovhannisyan, Azerbaijan is doing everything possible to reduce the role of the Russian peacekeeping mission, not to fulfill the provisions of the statements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.
“It should be evaluated by Russia, which is our strategic ally and a statement side. Official Yerevan has repeatedly stated that regional communications should be reopened without ‘corridor’ logic. All this was also recorded in Russia's public statements. In fact, for these very reasons, Azerbaijan combines its aggressive and destructive rhetoric with provocative military operations on Armenia’s eastern borders,” he said.
