The citizen of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is with the Russian peacekeepers after the incident near the Shushi checkpoint. The Ombudsman of Artsakh informed about this, noting that the citizen is in the headquarters of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, he was taken here for security reasons, and he will be handed over to the Artsakh law enforcement in the coming hours.
According to Artsakh law enforcement, in the morning, after the Azerbaijani provocations, the Armenian driver threw an explosive device in the direction of the Azerbaijani checkpoint. The Stepanakert-Berdzor interstate road was temporarily closed and reopened shortly afterwards. The Artsakh law enforcement bodies are carrying out relevant operative-investigative-criminal measures with the Russian peacekeeping contingent in order to find out the circumstances of the incident.
There are no wounded among the citizens of Artsakh as a result of the incident. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor’s Office said that three Azerbaijani servicemen were allegedly wounded in the incident, while the footage clearly shows that no one was injured in the blast.
This is the second incident near the city of Shushi this month. On November 8, the Azerbaijani side fired at the people of Artsakh working on the water pipes, as a result of which a 22-year-old man was killed and 31, 41 and 43 years old men were wounded.
Another incident of murder of a civilian was registered on October 9. Azerbaijanis killed a man working in agriculture near Martakert.
According to the testimony, he initially refused to drive the agricultural machinery, but after receiving guarantees from the Russian peacekeepers, he decided to drive the tractor, and the incident took place in the presence of the Russian peacekeepers.
