At the meeting of the foreign and defense ministers of Russia and France in Paris, the issue of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) was touched upon in the context of the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. The statement came from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“A few days ago, the three co-chairs met with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Paris. Everyone defended the agreement reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on November 9, 2020,” Lavrov said.
According to him, the progress of the activity of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the solution of a number of humanitarian issues was underlined, as well as a number of directions in which work should be carried out.
“In this sense, the Co-Chairs’ activities will soon focus on resolving humanitarian issues, as well as creating conditions for the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities in the region to develop an atmosphere of trust and resolve everyday issues in a spirit of constructive compromise,” he said.
