On November 10, Arayik Harutyunyan, President of the Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh) convened a meeting on security issues with the participation of the heads of the parliamentary factions, the Secretary of the Security Council and the heads of law enforcement agencies.
Harutyunyan noted that even though after the cessation of the war unleased against Artsakh in 2020, large-scale work was done to ensure the security of the population, however the facts of provocations by the Azerbaijani side especially over the past month, the casualties of the targeted shootings force the use of new defense methods.
Arayik Harutyunyan stressed that the steps are envisaged on the principle of cooperation with the Russian peacekeeping troops stationed in Artsakh.
Representatives of political forces made proposals on the situation.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Arthur Tovmasyan and the Chief of Staff of the President Karen Shahramanyan took part in the meeting.
