On November 8, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received outgoing UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp, Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
Minister Mirzoyan thanked Sharp for the work done during his term of office and wished him success.
During the meeting, the Armenian Foreign Minister highly appreciated the support of the UN and specialized UN agencies to Armenia, including in the context of democratic reforms and the efforts for sustainable development.
The parties also touched upon the cooperation within the scope of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and discussed the efforts for provision of assistance to the population of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) affected by the 44-day war.
In this context, Minister Mirzoyan attached importance to the need to ensure unobstructed entry of international organizations, including the specialized UN agencies into Artsakh.
