Russia is ready to support the launch of talks on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border for its further delimitation. The Foreign Ministry of Russia issued a statement on the one-year anniversary of signing of the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement by heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“An important provision was made in the November 9 2020 statement: unblocking all economic and transport communications in the region. We believe that the long-term solution to the problem is the beginning of the delimitation process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border, which should be followed by demarcation. Russia is ready to provide the necessary consulting assistance, to provide the necessary cartographic materials at the request of the parties, to share its rich experience of delimitation with other countries,” the statement said.
It is noted that the Russian border guards are present in the most problematic parts of the border to prevent and suppress conflict situations and to settle incidents. The work of the contact persons of the border departments of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia was organized around the clock in the direction of mutual exchange of relevant information.
