Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Alexander Sergeev, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The PM welcomed Mr. Sergeev and valued the expansion and development of the cooperation in the scientific field between Armenia and Russia. Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope that during the visit possibilities of implementing cooperative programs and projects will be discussed, providing an efficient cooperation for the scientific communities of the two countries.
According to Pashinyan, the field of education and science is among the priorities of the Armenian Government. For 2022 the financial resources directed to the scientific field will be added with 85%, which is an important indicator for the visionary of the government.
Alexander Sergeev mentioned that they are interested in the expansion of the cooperation with Armenian scientists and researchers, adding that there are discussion around concrete offers. According to the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the cooperation between the Armenian and Russian scientists during the Soviet years was on a high level, Armenian scientists have invested their significant deposit in the development of the field. Alexander Sergeev valued the implementation of cooperative programs directed to new scientific developments, experience exchange, the education of young specialists and qualification upgrade.
Nikol Pashinyan appreciated the initiatives directed to expanding Armenian-Russian connections in the scientific field and mentioned that Armenian Government will contribute to their successful implementation in every way. According to the PM, the scientific sphere can also become one of the key directions to Armenian-Russian strategic cooperation.
