In connection with the end of the diplomatic mission of the Armenian Permanent Representative of the Council of Europe, Paruyr Hovhannisyan had a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe Maria Peichinovich-Burich.
Both sides mentioned the development of the relationships between Armenia and CE. Secretary-General Burich and Ambassador Hovhannisyan expressed satisfaction for the multilateral cooperation between Armenia and CE and confidence that the efficient cooperation will have a further development.
Ambassador Hovhannisyan highly valued the support of the CE in the spheres of the democratic reforms, rule of law, human rights defense in Armenia. Implementing the 2019-2022 Armenia-CE activities program was especially valued. Referring to the issues of overcoming the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, Ambassador Hovhannisyan emphasized the importance of the involvement of the CE competent authorities.
At the end of the meeting, CE Secretary-General thanked the Ambassador for the productive activities during the diplomatic mission in the CE and his deposit in expanding and deepening Armenia-CE relationships. She wished success in the further activities.
Ambassador Hovhannisyan, in his turn mentioned that it was a great honor to work and have his contribution in developing and expanding Armenia-CE relationships.
