Turkey announced the start of the Eastern Akdeniz 2021 naval exercises in the Mediterranean Sea, in which 35 naval ships from 10 countries and 5,000 personnel are participating, Turkish media reports.
It is noted that the main purpose of the exercises is to monitor the combat readiness of the Turkish Navy, as well as patrol aircraft, helicopters and UAVs.
Speaking at the briefing, a high-ranking officer of the Turkish Navy, Cuneyt Talayman, noted that a boarding ship of the Azerbaijani Navy is also taking part in the exercises.
