Answering RFE/RL's question about Armenia’s position on the ‘3 + 3’ format, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Vahan Hunanyan highlighted the nature of the relations between the participating countries.
“Any measure of regional cooperation can be effective if it is based on developments that indicate positive trends in relations between all the states involved. Otherwise, it may lead to the transfer of the existing problems in the bilateral relations of the states to a multilateral format, which may lead to the disruption of both that multilateral format and the bilateral dialogue.
It is fundamental for us that the possible topics that can be discussed in that format do not in any way coincide with the scope of the other formats’ mandate and discussion issues,” Vahan Hunanyan says.
