On October 28, Artashes Tumanyan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran met with Rostam Ghasemi, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting, issues related to the construction of the Goris-Kapan alternative road, the North-South highway, and the "Persian Gulf-Sea" transport corridor were discussed. The implementation of the mentioned programs was mutually agreed.
Reporting that the end of the construction of the Goris-Kapan alternative road is near and emphasizing that the large road construction program starting in Armenia in 2022, Ambassador Tumanyan valued the opportunity for Iranian companies to participate in the project.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Ghasemi conveyed the readiness of the Iranian side for cooperation and thanked Ambassador Tumanyan for the work done, expressing hope that in the future the Armenian-Iranian cooperation will continue and new programs will be launched.
