On October 15, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Armenian Foreign Minister who is in Minsk to participate in the Session of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers had a meeting with Vladimir Makei, the Foreign Minister of Belarus.
Armenian and Belarusian FMs thoroughly referred to the agenda of the Armenian-Belarusian cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally, including the frameworks of CSTU, EEU and CIS.
In terms of further development of the relationships, both sides valued the implementation of mutual visits in high levels.
The ministers expressed satisfaction on the recent results of the political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries held in Minsk.
Both sides emphasized the necessity of steps towards expanding the volumes of economic connections and turnover. They valued the role of the Armenian-Belarusian cooperative inter-parliamentary commission of the economic cooperation in that context. High information technologies, agriculture, food industry were separated as spheres of interest.
The issues of international and regional security were also referred to during the meeting. Talking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the importance of the long-lasting and comprehensive settlement under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
