Servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in a remote region of Nagorno-Karabakh provided humanitarian assistance to large families and local residents in difficult life situations.
“Today we held a charity event for large families, together with the Mercy Association of Charitable Organizations in the Lachin village. Provided the distribution of food sets, footwear for the season, as well as stationery. 10 large families live in the Lachin settlement,” – Sergei Vladimirov, a spokesman for the Russian peacekeeping contingent said.
As part of a humanitarian action, Russian peacekeepers, together with benefactors, donated food kits, stationery, winter, summer and demi-season children's clothing and footwear to needy residents living near the observation post in the Lachin corridor.
“Today we held an action in the Lachin corridor. The action was mainly appealed to large families and single mothers, there were about 10 families, about 70 people. We brought 100 pairs of shoes, as well as food sets, and together with the Russian peacekeeping forces, to which I am very grateful and hopefully we will carry out this kind of action in the future, we will jointly help people who really need it. Thank you very much, I hope there will be peace everywhere in the world,” – the representative of the charitable organization Alesya Podolskaya said.
Since the beginning of the month, Russian peacekeepers, together with charitable organizations, have carried out four humanitarian actions in the cities and towns of Stepanakert, Martuni, Aterk and Lachin to provide the necessary assistance to internally displaced persons and schools in remote areas of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“I have seven children. The eldest is seventeen, the youngest is six, the youngest. The first graders were given accessories, which is also very necessary. Shoes were also given to all children with many children. Thank you very much for helping us and we hope that everything will work out soon,” – Anush Ushakova, a resident of a remote region of Nagorno-Karabakh, thanked.
