As we reported earlier, on October 12, Attorney-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Jafar Montazeri arrived in the Republic of Armenia on a three-day visit.
The first visit of the Attorney-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the recent 8 years started with the extended negotiations with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia.
“Iran's and Armenia’s diplomatic and political relations have always been very good. Recent events in the region, however, force us to develop those contacts. The cooperation between Iran and Armenia must be at the highest level, there are preconditions for that.
As Iranian officials have stated, it is necessary to take serious steps to develop relations between our countries. Armenia and Iran have confirmed that the terrorists spotted on our borders are by no means acceptable.
We maintain good-neighborly relations with neighboring countries, and we hope that they will understand this position of Iran before the issue escalates. The terrorists must disappear as soon as possible. We can take drastic steps, but I hope that by then the neighboring countries will start resolving the issue themselves,” says Mohammad Jafar Montazeri, Attorney-General of Iran.
