Former Turkish Interior Minister Sadettin Tantan advised the country's political opposition not to hold a debate with Justice and Development Party leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He said that if the opposition does not speak, Erdogan will destroy himself.
“He is in a panic at the moment. He asks for support from the West, he lives under the illusion of caliphate. He has amassed great wealth. He knows that he will not be able to enjoy that wealth. Only the leaders and speakers of the opposition parties keep him on his feet,” Tantan stressed.
The former Minister also noted that there is a struggle for power within the Justice and Development Party. When saying, “do not strive for power” to the opposition, Erdogan is actually sending a message to his party colleagues. In this way, he makes it clear that they cannot take power from him, so they should not leave him.
