The Georgian Foreign Ministry's Strategic Communications Department denied Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani’s statement that Georgia should be represented in the ‘3 + 3’ negotiation format (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Iran).
“Unfortunately, the interview of the Georgian Foreign Minister with the Public Broadcaster is misinterpreted on social networks. The Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stated that it is not discussing the country’s participation with Russia in the so-called ‘3 + 3’ format. Nevertheless, there are deliberate reports that the Minister has confirmed Georgia's participation in the format,” the department said in a statement.
Earlier, in an interview with Georgia’s Channel 1, David Zalkaliani said that despite the difficult relations with Russia, Georgia should be represented in such large-scale geopolitical projects.
