A meeting with Aurora heroes was held on October 08 in Venice as part of the Aurora Dialogues. During the meeting in 2021, five Aurora heroes presented their work and source of inspiration, discussing what support is needed to bring about tangible change in their communities. The discussion took place in the hall of the International University of Venice on the island of San Servolo.
At the beginning of the discussion, Lord Ara Darzin, Chairman of the Aurora Prize Selection Committee, presented the statuette symbolizing the award to winner of Aurora Award Fartun Adan. It should be reminded that last year the fifth annual Aurora Prize was awarded to Fartun Adan and Ilvad Elman. Due to the restrictions connected with the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in 2020, the winners were announced online.
Aurora humanitarian initiative co-founders Nubar Afeyan and Ruben Vardanyan greeted the guests and the heroes of Aurora 2021.
The Aurora 2021 Award Ceremony and its accompanying events are being held in Venice this year from October 8-10. This is the first time that the Aurora Award Ceremony has been held in Europe, which will highlight the close connection between this cultural center of global importance, the Aurora idea, which deeply expresses the respect for human life that every Armenian and very member of the world movement bears.
The winner of the Aurora Prize 2021 will be announced on October 9, and the award ceremony will be held on St. Lazarus Island.
This is the first offline Aurora Award ceremony since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
