The presidents of Armenia and Italy Armen Sarkissian and Sergio Matarella had a private conversation at the Quirinal Palace in the residence of the President of Italy.
Presidents Sarkissian and Matarella referred to the centuries-old Armenian-Italian friendship, the strong interstate relations established over the past years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and the prospects for their development.
They noted that the Armenian-Italian peoples, as bearers of the ancient civilizations of the world, have a rich chronicle of relations, based on close historical ties, and the same Christian value system.
The Presidents of Armenia and Italy also exchanged views on the agenda of bilateral relations, regional and international developments and issues.
