Alexey Zaytsev, the Deputy of the Official Representative of the Russian Ministry of International Affairs, answered the question of the “Lurer” during the weekly briefing related to Azerbaijan not fulfilling its obligations of the tripartite declaration after a year of the war and does not release Armenian prisoners of war, violating the provisions of the Geneva convection.
“In stabilizing the situation in the region, Russia emphasizes on the implementation of the issues arising from the trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, in all directions. We continue the works in the direction of releasing Armenian prisoners of war for providing minefield maps. We are sure that the immediate and final elimination of those disturbing circumstances will contribute to the recovery of relationships between Baku and Yerevan”, said Zaytsev.
He also expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims in 2020 war, adding that the arrangements of the leaders of the three countries are a reliable guarantee to forbid similar tragic events in the future.
