On September 20, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk stated in Yerevan that the issue of establishing a corridor between Azerbaijan and the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic through the territory of Armenia is not being discussed during the trilateral talks. The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan once again made such a statement. He provided some details on the possible opening of the roads.
“We do not discuss a ‘corridor’ issue. We are discussing the issue of unblocking economic and transport ties. We are now in the process of exchanging views. The mood is positive,” says Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
“In terms of infrastructure in the region: I want to say that the solutions for the railway are much more visible, because there it is mainly about the restoration of infrastructure, which existed and worked in the past. In that sense, the technical solutions are more visible there. We are more focused on legal solutions, such as border, customs, phytosanitary and other similar control functions. In terms of roads, the issue of infrastructure technical solutions is still being discussed,” says Mher Grigoryan, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia.
