France must take part in ensuring the physical security of the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). The chairman of the France-Artsakh friendship circle, French MP François Puponi stated this in Stepanakert.
“We believe that France should stand by the Russians, why not the Americans, to ensure the physical security of the people of Artsakh. And from this point of view, we have a responsibility to put pressure on our Government to reconsider its policy and make active efforts to defend Artsakh,” says François Puponi, President of the France-Artsakh Friendship Circle.
During the 44-day war, France stood by Artsakh. According to Ashot Ghulyan, Chairman of the Artsakh-France Friendship Group, France has made great efforts to end the 44-day battles.
“It is no exaggeration to say that in those crucial days we felt the most visible and large-scale international support from our friends in the Republic of France, and from the parliamentarians in the sister city administration,” says Ashot Ghulyan, Chairman of the Artsakh-France Friendship Group.
The French friends of Artsakh regret that the sister cities Shushi and Hadrut, Shekher village of Martuni region are under Azerbaijani occupation. Successful cooperation is a good basis for parliamentary diplomacy, said René Rouquet, former chairman of the circle.
“I want to express our loyalty and support to you. We are people who can facilitate the visit of Artsakh delegations to France through parliamentary diplomacy. I think that the explanatory work should be continued, because the voice of Artsakh is not always heard by everyone,” says René Rouquet, former President of the France-Artsakh Friendship Circle.
France-Artsakh Artsakh-France friendship groups took part in the opening of the Paul Eluard Francophone Center in Stepanakert. By the way, this is the first foreign investment in Artsakh at the state level. Bringing together the Francophones, the center will be a platform for educational, commercial and innovation that contributes to the development of the city.
“Many thanks to the local governments of France, communities, states and regions, as well as to Armenian organizations in France. I am sure that in the future they will also continue to support, giving the people of Artsakh an opportunity to learn French and use additional professional training programs in healthcare, agriculture, tourism and other spheres,” François Rochebloine, Founder-President of the France-Artsakh Friendship Circle.
The newly opened Paul Eluard Francophone Center in Stepanakert will play a special role in the development of the French language in Artsakh. The Francophone Center has a history of 7 years. The people in charge assure that the new building conditions will only contribute to the development and spread of the French language in Artsakh.
