It is proposed to increase the amount of annual bonuses for athletes, coaches and doctors who have won the Olympic Games. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan presented the draft decision during the Government session.
“According to the current decision, the athletes who took the first place in the Olympic Games receive AMD 20 million (over $40 thousand), as a result of the change they will receive AMD 25 million (over $50 thousand).
In case if an athlete who takes the first place in the Olympic Games, the head coach of the national team and the personal trainer will receive AMD 10 million (over $20 thousand) according to the current decision, as a result of the change they will receive AMD 12.5 million (over $25 thousand).
In the case if an athlete who takes the first place at the Olympic Games, the second coach of the team and the doctor of the senior team receives AMD 4 million (over $ 8000) according to the current decision, as a result of the change they will receive AMD 5 million (over $10 000).
According to the current decision, the athletes who took the second place in the Olympic Games receive AMD 15 million (over $30 thousand), as a result of the change they will receive AMD 20 million (over $40 thousand),” said Dumanyan.
Dumanyan also informed that the current champion of the Olympic Games receives a nominal pension of AMD 500,000 (over $ 1000), the project envisages AMD 1 million (over $ 2000).
