Armenia’s Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan put a note on his Facebook page, referring to the International Day of Democracy.
"Today is the International Day of Democracy. The resolution adopted at the UN General Assembly confirms that despite the commonality of democracy, there is no one model of democracy.
In Armenia, only a few years ago, the concept of "democracy" was mainly in textbooks. While speaking about democratic values, it was mandatory to mention the absence of "political will”.
The revolution of 2018 returned the power back to people, rejecting the false formulations of cliché democracy.
Today, in our country, the formulation of our own model of a full-fledged democracy is already a daily work, accompanied by the efforts of all of us and great patience", wrote Simonyan.
