On September 14, Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan received Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvidkoy.
Welcoming Shvidkoy’s visit to Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science, Dumanyan expressed conviction that cultural cooperation occupies a special place in the bilateral interstate relations between Armenia and Russia. The Minister of Education and Science used the full realization of the existing potential of cooperation, as well as the implementation of new programs.
“I am glad to meet such a respected figure like you. I am confident that with your rich experience and activities you will continue to contribute to the further deepening and development of educational and cultural cooperation between our countries,” said the Minister of Education and Science.
Mikhail Shvidkoy thanked for the meeting and spoke about the importance of expanding the Armenian-Russian educational and cultural programs and deepening bilateral cultural cooperation. The interlocutors discussed in detail issues related to intensifying contacts between educational and cultural figures of the two countries, holding high-level events in Armenia and Russia.
Dumanyan drew Shvidkoy's attention to the issue of preserving the Armenian cultural heritage, which is of universal value, in the territories under the control of Azerbaijan after the 44-day Artsakh war. Mikhail Shvidkoy noted that he is ready to contribute to the solution of the issue as much as possible.
