Ömer Çelik, Spokesman for Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party made a statement on Taliban control in Afghanistan.
“Taliban took control of the country. All of the foreign troops in Afghanistan left on August 31. Our soldiers have completed their duty with glory and honor for 20 years. Our embassy will continue to serve. We are conducting an activity that connects the world. We closely follow developments in Afghanistan, especially women’s rights. A provisional government has been established, we cannot say it is inclusive enough. We hope that the pain and difficulties experienced in the past regarding women’s rights will not happen again. The interim government and the international community are cautious,” Çelik said.
He noted that Turkey both follows its own sensitivities and takes joint steps in the international community.
