“In the post-war period Armenia’s Government implemented 15 programs to support the Armenians of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Now we aim to make the transition from social assistance to development programs,” Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan said.
More than 100 thousand people benefited from the monthly support of AMD 68 thousand ($138). About AMD 27 billion (about $54 million) was provided by the Government.
It is planned to establish 1000 social businesses in Artsakh with the help of the ‘Hayastan’ All-Armenian Fund.
The Ministry proposes to provide state support for housing to about 950 families (3600 people) displaced from the Kashatagh region of Artsakh.
