On September 10, Karine Sujayan, the Head of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Issues Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, received Antoaneta Vassileva (Bulgaria), the First Vice-Chair of the Council of Europe Group of Experts on Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA), Ia Dadunashvili (Georgia), a member of GRETA, and Roemer Lemaitre (France), the Secretary of GRETA.
The GRETA experts presented preliminary results and considerations of their third round evaluation visit to Armenia on September 6-10 within the framework of the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings. The sides exchanged views on the achievements of Armenia in the field of combating trafficking and the further actions to be taken.
Within the framework of the visit, the GRETA experts had meetings with Mher Grigoryan, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, the Chairman of the Anti-Trafficking Council, Members of the Standing Committee on Human Rights of the National Assembly, representatives of relevant government institutions, experts of the field in Yerevan and Lori (Vanadzor), as well as the representatives of the civil society organizations operating in the field.
