Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the statements of the Turkish President on normalization of relations with Armenia at the Government session.
“The President of Turkey made a public reference to the issue of relations with Armenia. In these statements, we see an opportunity to talk about normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations and reopening of the Armenian-Turkish railway and roads. We are ready for such a conversation, which could get a broader framework against the background of the above.
In a broader sense, it is about making the region a crossroad between the East and the West, the North and the South. I am pleased to note that the Russian Federation has publicly expressed its readiness to actively support this process.
“EU, France and the United States are also interested in the process, while the interest of China and India in the development of communication projects is well known,” Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan emphasized that “regional peace and stability is a long-term strategy, and we are responsible for solving the issue.”
“Peace, stability and cooperation are easy-to-announce and desirable goals, but their implementation requires well-thought, pragmatic efforts. Armenia is ready to make such efforts,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
